Cologne Cathedral is one of the most important Gothic buildings in the world. Construction began in 1248 and finished in 1880. Inside are the Shrine of the Three Kings, the Gero Crucifix and the Richter Window. The climb up the south tower leads 533 steps to a panoramic view over the city.
